यह विषय किसी भी Competitive Exam चाहे वह सरकारी हो या कोई Entrance Exam, लगभग सभी में बहुत महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रखता हैं। यहा तक की एक सामान्य जिंदगी में भी एक जागरूक नागरिक होने के लिए संबिधान के प्रावधानों जैसे – मौलिक अधिकार ( Fundamental Rights ), Duties (कर्तव्य) इत्यादि को समझना अत्यंत आवश्यक है।

जबकि IAS, IPS, IRS, Assistant Commandant या CAPF, NDA, CDS, अर्थात UPSC, State PCS जैसे – UPPCS, Bihar PCS, Rajasthan PSC, MP PCS, Uttarakhand PCS, Chattisgarh PCS, Jharkhand PCS, Punjab PCS, Lower PCS में एवं UPPSC BEO Block Education officer, etc में Pre में बहुविकल्पीय जबकि Mains में Bhartiya Sanbidhan एवं Rajvyabastha से Descriptive प्रश्न भी पूंछे जाते हैं तथा INterview में भी Polity की समझ अति आवश्यक हैं।
