SECOND WORLD WAR
SECOND WORLD WAR AND IT’S CONSEQUENCES
Introduction:
2nd world war (1939-1945) fought between the Axis powers—Germany, Italy, & Japan—and the Allies—France, Great Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union. In this war both USA & USSR were in one side but when USA dropped two atomic bombs (Little boy on Hiroshima, Fat man on Nagasaki) in Japan (August 1945) without any concern then USA & USSR became rivals and it was the time of emergence two superpowers as USA (United States of America) & USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republic).
USA decision of dropping the bombs was criticized because:
- US knew that Japan was about to surrender.
- To stop the Soviet Union from making military and political gains in Asia and elsewhere.
- To show Moscow (capital of USSR) that the United States was supreme.
USA decision of dropping the bombs was supported because:
(USA’s argue to drop the bombs)
- Necessity to end the war quickly and to stop further loss of American and Allied lives.
